After assessing the area, we feel very fortunate to share that Acme Oyster House in Gulf Shores will reopen today at 4 PM.

We may look a little rough around the edges after the storm, but we are grateful to be able to open our doors and welcome our guests back so quickly.

A huge thank you to the linemen and first responders who are working hard to help us get back on our feet.

As we reopen our doors, we want to send our thoughts and prayers to our neighbors in Florida.

We are continuing to monitor Hurricane Isaias and following guidance from local officials. Our Gulf Shores location will close today, Thursday, October 8 at 3:00 PM. We are currently planning to reopen Saturday, October 10 at 3:00 PM, pending an assessment of the restaurant once the storm has passed.The safety of our team and guests remains our top priority. We will continue to provide updates as conditions develop.

For many seasons, Mike and his team made Acme Oyster House in Baton Rouge their game-day home, broadcasting the Tiger Tailgating Show live from our restaurant. We were proud to have him here, grateful for his friendship and always glad to hear his unmistakable voice filling the room on LSU Saturdays.

Please join us this Sunday as we pause for a moment of silence in honor of the other “Mike the Tiger,” who would’ve turned 66 today. We’ll miss you, Mike.

Back in 1980, when Acme was navigating tough years, one waitress handled the entire restaurant in a self-serve format. That's when the famous "Waitress Available Sometimes" sign was born.
The funniest part? Even when the waitress was there, whether you got service often depended on Vi's mood 🤣
Decades later, it's still one of our favorite pieces of Acme history. Iconic behavior, honestly 💁‍♀️
