Pier Houz is searching for seasonal workers/contractors to help operate Grosse Pointe Farms Pier Park concession stand Memorial Day through Labor Day. Positions include: operational managers and cooks. Great opportunity for retirees, college students or anyone looking to earn good income in 12 short weeks. Food service experience a plus but willing to train the right person. Must be flexible in hours (minimum of 15 hours per week) and work at least one summer holiday. This young woman has proven to be a solid force dependable reliability at PierHouz. At on 15 years old, she learned to open in the mornings, covered shifts and flexed her time when needed. She meets challenges with a smile and she runs the fastest hustle I’ve ever seen! If that isn’t dedication, I don’t know what is!!! On one of the busiest days of the summer when I was short staffed, she spent hours handling the front window like a pro and then asked to mop at the end of the night, to name a few of the things she did this summer. Anyone who has this young woman on their side is not on lucky but should be privileged to have her. I am beyond grateful for the day she walked in to fill out an application. She became my diamond in the rough. May she always sparkle in everything she does.

I am proud to feature these two guys right here, Arber Shaholi and
Charles aka “Charlie” Thompson who carried the summer through with their culinary skills. They enjoyed working the window and engaging with customers and flipping burgers. They came, they saw, they conquered their first season at Pierhouz. Good job guys! Keep up that hard work!

Our girl Lilly Cleland is leaving the nest and off to Kalamazoo Mi where she will be attending her freshmen year of college. Lilly is finishing her second summer at the Pier Park concession. She was such a pleasure to work with. She was reliable, loved cooking and engaging with our tiny kid customer base. We hope to see her again next summer. Good luck at Kalamazoo University Lilly Cleland. 👏🏫👩‍🏫
