I want to take a moment and acknowledge our staff. ❤️
In this economy, things are incredibly tough. The restaurant industry is tough enough on its own — now add rising food costs, rising operating costs, the constant struggle to find sincere help, and, at times, some pretty unbelievable customer attitudes… and honestly, one might be tempted to run for the door. Bolt, even. As if being chased by a bear. 😂
But my staff?
They have buckled down.
Have we had our ups and downs? Absolutely. Have we had moments where we’re all trying to figure out how to navigate this unpredictable economy, unpredictable business, and sometimes… unpredictable people? You bet.
But we have done it as a team.
Some of our staff are young. Some are older. We have different personalities, different experiences, and different strengths — but together, they bring a combination that I am incredibly proud of.
And I want to recognize something that I think deserves to be said:
Every single day, my staff continues to greet customers with kindness and respect.
Even when customers have gotten in their faces screaming and yelling.
Even when someone is screaming so loudly on the phone that the people in the back washing dishes can hear the entire conversation.
They still show up. They still work. They still try. And they still treat people with respect.
That matters.
Mistakes happen. We’re human. Sometimes something gets written down incorrectly. Sometimes something gets punched in incorrectly. Sometimes something simply gets made wrong.
If something is wrong, we will gladly fix it when the mistake is justified.
That’s what businesses do.
What we don’t need — and what our employees absolutely do not deserve — is screaming, screaming over the phone, insults, or someone getting in their face over a mistake that can be corrected.
Prices have gone up everywhere. Catastrophically.
Go to the grocery store. Look at the price of groceries. Look at the price of literally anything. Yet you don’t see people standing at the checkout counter screaming in the cashier’s face because the price of a gallon of milk went up.
So what’s the difference?
There isn’t one.
We are a small, local restaurant. We are working hard every single day to provide good food, good service, and a place where people can come in, eat, laugh, take something home, sit on the patio, or simply have one less thing to worry about that day.
And behind all of that are the people who make it happen.
My staff.
They deserve recognition. They deserve appreciation. They deserve respect.
And I will say it loud and proud:
This staff of mine is incredible.
I am incredibly proud of every one of you. ❤️
Thank you for showing up, working hard, having each other’s backs, dealing with the chaos, rolling with the punches, and continuing to put one foot in front of the other even on the days when you’d probably rather actually run from that bear.
You are appreciated more than you know.
And to our customers who treat our staff with kindness, patience, and respect — thank you. You make this crazy business a whole lot easier to love. ❤️🍕
