Well we are into the New Year 2026 with all kinds of frigid weather. N.C has has unusually cold and frozen ice storms. People with out power/heat and lights for days at length. We've had cold weather even here in Florida. In fact we're still having nights down in the 50s, thankfully it gets back into the 70-80s during the day. I have a close friend that lives in Oswego, NY and it's right on the lake. She's had over 7' of snow in her yard and minus degree weather for a few days. She's been trying to sell her home for over 10 years but taxes are crippling and there's been no buyers.
I am getting along as well as can be expected for an aging person. My youngest son Chris and his daughter Kendra reside with me. They have become my caretakers much to their dismay. If they weren't with me I would certainly be in a senior home. Im now where I depend on someone to cook, clean and do laundry. I think back on the hours I worked running my own coffeehouse and wonder how I did it. I guess if I hadn't enjoyed it so very much it would have been very hard. My customers were the BEST and I still miss many of you.
I'm looking forward to Spring as when school is out I'm planning a trip North. I want to make a stop in NC and visit some old friends too. Maybe it'll include you, you just never know!
