Hey Guys, Georgi here :) I thought it’d be fun to introduce a new series to help our team connect with the community and share our favorite Jmart meals.

I’ll get the ball rolling with my original go-to meal before marrying into the Jmart family. Pre-covid (twice a week to be exact), I’d visit Jmart on my lunch break for a chicken kebab platter w/rice and Deborah salad. I’d also add a 2oz cup of yogurt cucumber sauce and bundle of thick pita. My fav thing to do is make mini sandwiches with each triangle of pita, a little yog sauce, salad, and a chicken chunk. Chef’s kiss (I can hear Sam’s voice resonating in my mind). This combo not only fueled the rest of my work day but the labne in the yogurt cucumber filled my gut with good bacteria encouraging smooth digestion and overall well being. Stuffed but not weighed down, this meal consistently tastes amazing and feeds the body and soul!

Now this maybe isn’t your thing but tbh everything I’ve tried of Chef Omar’s has been nothing short of amazing. Even things I swore were not for my liking, he somehow made appetizing to my once picky palate .

I’ll even share this somewhat embarrassing tidbit that when I first starting eating at Jmart, I didn’t care too much for the hummus (an abomination, I know lol). You see I’d only previously had homemade hummus Greek style, meaning with cumin instead of tahini. The tahini at first was bitter, a bit shocking to my palette but over the years I made myself continously try the hummus and finally one day my palate had an “ah-ha” moment and the taste has since been nothing short of amazing (every single time). Lesson learned, the palate is on guard until repitition creates comfort with a new flavor (aka flavor learning).

Loacker Wafers - Always a great little snack with the perfect crisp and not too sweet

Carlfagna’s Pasta Sauces- We tried these at the foodshow and instantly were hooked. We love to make our own sauces, but these taste like Homemade!! Fresh garlic, basil, tomatoes, olive oil, look at the ingredients for yourself. Why pay $10 for mass produced junk sauces like Rao’s (now made by Cambell’s soup) when you can have Grandma’s Sauces for the same price??

Cento San Marzano Tomatoes - Well if you insist on making your own sauce, start with the best tomatoes for sauce!!

Divina Spreads - Caramelized Onion or Fig. One sweet, one savory, the possibilites are endless! Caramelized Onion is great for a bruscetta base or pairing with a stronger cheese. Fig is nice and chunky, perfect for a scone topping!

Cortas Waters - Rose, Orange Blossom, and now by request Mint!
Rose or Orange blossom are the classical flavors for dessert syrups in the Middle East, see which is your favorite. Aunties back home even use them for perfume!
Mint is a new one to us and is a great cocktail or mocktail mixer. Spritz it on anything for light and fresh mint flavor

Fillo Factory ORGANIC Puff Pastry - Yeah frozen puff pastry is a dime a dozen but not organic ones! We all need to cut the residual pesticides out of our diet and why not start with dessert??
