Our friends and market vendors Aamal and Vincent of have made many treks to Florida over the past decade to fetch fresh citrus for us at the Corner! And each orange tastes like Christmas morning.

Aamal keeps in close touch with her growers at the Florida groves and she's learned that with the weather affecting the crops the past few years, many of the orchards have struggled. Some farms have had to replant after storm damage.

For the last couple of years, because the harvests were so lean, it wasn't worth making the trip in person and they they relied on friends to bring citrus to them as it was available. Their last citrus run was in 2021.

As the orchards rebound, they want to get back down in person. They hope to make one trip to Central Florida for Honey Belles, Red Grapefruit, Tangerines, Meyer Lemons and any other fresh-picked fruits they can find.

As they laid out their travel plans, they discovered that the transportation costs have almost doubled since 2021. The trip will cost $1500. Let's help Fruittickler make their Florida citrus run! This Saturday they will have Meyer Lemon poundcake, Apple pillows, and Candy Roaster pie by the slice; and Cranberry Lemonade by the half gallon. Our goal is to raise $1500 to support their trip. Join us in supporting your favorite fruit-sourcing friends!

We've opted to open an hour later tomorrow. Just to be on the safe side. No biggie. So we will see you at 9 am for a hot cup of coffee, and a breakfast burrito, scone, croissant or muffin.

Then you can grab all the veggies, fruit, eggs, meat and bread you've been missing and settle in for a cozy weekend with some or tasty treats from . Get some bagels for the weekend , some wellness shots from .juices, fresh apples from Fruitickler, kombucha from Susan and so much more.

Brave the rain to come see us tomorrow, and we'll do the same for you.
