Silver Sands Motel & Beach Bungalows Silver Sands is a design-led beachfront hotel in Greenport, 90 minutes from NYC. A 2024 Condé Nast Traveler award winner.

Set on 45 acres with 1,400 feet of private beach, it features 3 restaurants, a full-service spa, and coastal experiences. Nestled at the end of a wooded road on the crescent shores of Pipes Cove, Silver Sands sits on 1,400 feet of private, sandy beach facing Shelter Island. Silver Sands will initially open with 20 motel rooms and will be adding 1-5-bedroom bungalows throughout the rest of the year. Silver Sands is a place for all seasons and will be open year-round, delivering the community and visitors a hospitality experience that reflects the unique seasonal cadence of the North Fork and its surrounding pastures, wetlands, farms, vineyards, and aquaculture communities.

Fall has arrived on the North Fork. The days are growing cooler, farm stands are overflowing with the autumn harvest, and the beaches are quieter. It’s a season for slow mornings by the water, bike rides between w**eries, oysters at sunset, and unhurried afternoons discovering small producers and hidden corners of the East End.

At Silver Sands, fall comes alive throughout the property - from waterfront dining and seasonal menus to mixology workshops, stargazing, and quiet moments in the Salt Marsh Wellness Sanctuary. For those looking to explore a little deeper, join our naturalist Tom Damiani on a walk through the salt marsh, shoreline, and wooded trails.

Seasonal menus and cocktails bring the harvest to the table, while the North Fork’s farms and orchards invite a little wandering. Leave some room in the car for freshly picked apples, a pumpkin you didn’t plan on bringing home, and a stop for c***r or something sweet along the way. LOCALS’ SUMMER AT EDDIE’S

One last night at Eddie’s - celebrating the farmers, fishermen, w**emakers, oyster growers and makers who feed us all summer.

This isn’t a formal or seated dinner. Come hungry and eat your way through a roaming feast: Davy Jones oysters, Amagansett scallop crudo, chilled mussels, local fish ceviche, late-summer vegetables and dips, and littleneck clams.

From the wood fire: roasted oysters with Hungarian wax peppers, fonduta and breadcrumbs; Treiber apple-glazed pork skewers; fried longfin squid sliders; stuffed top neck clams; soy-marinated opah skewers; and Silver Sands pane bianco.

Plus McCall Wagolais meatballs, local vegetable skewers, Treiber blackberry buckle, local w**e, Matchbook cocktails, music by DJ Matt Shaw, fire pits and s’mores as the sun goes down.

With Treiber Farms, KK’s Farm, Davy Jones Oysters, Pipes Cove Fish Trap, Matchbook Distilling Co. and McCall Winery.

Ninety minutes, high-powered telescopes, and roughly two and a half million light years of range.

This Friday, August 7, join us on the Silver Sands boardwalk for a moonlight-free evening of stargazing with Custer Institute & Observatory.

Led by Ali Farhan Farhan Ali and the Custer crew Custer Institute and Observatory, we’ll look through high-powered telescopes as Jupiter and Saturn rise after sunset - close enough to pick out moons and rings. Later, once the sky over Pipes Cove goes properly dark, we’ll find Albireo: one point of light to the naked eye that becomes two through the eyepiece, one blue, one gold.

Custer does the pointing. We’ll have the hibiscus iced tea, cosmic brownie bites, and blankets waiting.

This summer, join acclaimed yoga and meditation teacher Neeti Narula Neeti Narula for a series of intimate, one-hour experiences at the Salt Marsh Wellness Sanctuary. Rooted in more than 1,200 hours of study, each session blends meditation, breathwork, yoga movement, reflective yin, and a restorative savasana sound bath - all designed to reconnect you with your body, mind, and the natural rhythm of the salt marsh.

Based between New York City and the North Fork, Neeti is a frequent contributor to Yoga Journal and a teacher with Melissa Wood Health.
