And that’s a wrap, folks!!
Before we go, we have a few things to say:
1. None of this would have been possible without the logistical expertise of Nancy Linardos (WDPS), Tonty Gaffney (TJL), Jen Davis (OMS), and Vikki Williams (HHS). They had the hardest job figuring out the meal schedules for their buildings! THANK YOU!!
2. Please keep supporting our local independent restaurants - they do so much for our community and this is a very difficult year for them. Eat in, order out or buy gift cards from them (we know a few teachers who appreciate a good meal 😉).
3. The staff at Harborfields have gone above and beyond this year. It’s been a challenging, exhausting and difficult year, but they still keep showing up every single day to make sure our kids are safe and learning, in school and at home. If you didn’t have a chance to contribute here, we have good news: Thank you messages never expire! Drop them an email or a handwritten note to let them know how grateful you are - you have no idea how much it means.
4. And YOU GUYS! Before we started this, our big concern was, “What if we only raise enough money to get to 2 or 3 schools?” We should have known better! We underestimated the community spirit and generous people living among us. Not only did we raise enough to get a meal to EVERYONE but we had enough money left over for restaurant gifts cards for the staff members who were quarantined on their meal day, and after that, we STILL had $620 left over to purchase restaurant gift cards for HACO!
5. And yes.... we are very sad this is all over because hearing the sounds of happy teachers getting a good meal is truly a delight to behold.
