It is with the heaviest heart that I announce the closure of our shop. While initially planning on closing the 1st of April between this weeks curveballs and appointments next week there just isn’t enough time to be able to commit downtown. This decision has not been taken lightly, but as a family man, I must prioritize the well-being of my loved ones and consider the broader implications. To clarify, our shop's closure is not a result of fatigue or diminishing passion for our work, as I genuinely enjoy serving our loyal customers. Nor is it due to a new venture opportunity. Unfortunately, the harsh reality is that declining day to day sales have made our business unsustainable. I want to emphasize that our motivation has always been to serve the community, not to accumulate wealth. I'm proud of the exceptional service provided by our staff and grateful for the community's support, particularly those who helped us during the harsh winter. However, Raeanna and I can no longer sustain the shop's daily operations due to economic pressures and declining foot traffic. Greene is a vibrant community with a strong history of supporting local businesses, but we face challenges such as an aging population, the need for dual-income households, and limited time for residents to engage with local shops. These factors impact our Main Street's vitality. We WILL CONTINUE to offer catering services and welcome event bookings, pastry orders, and more.
We will be baking strictly for West Forty Market in Greene with loaves of bread, rolls, and almond sticks and will be posting when we do our drop offs so keep on the lookout for those posts.
I could write a short story about each of my regulars at this point. You have all impacted my life for the better and I will miss seeing ALL of your faces daily and hearing all the stories/ words of wisdom.
