THE BEGINING
The Weber family moved to New Mexico in 1963 and fell in love with the local cuisine. In 1968 we all wanted to move home to Great Falls and a plan was hatched to open El Comedor. 1970 saw our 1st store open on the West Side and moved to the current location in 1978. After Claire and Art retired, El Comedor was ran by daughter, Diane, and later joined by her husband, Bill. The Eus
termans continued the traditions until retirement beckoned in May of 2022. It was imperative our buyer was local and as passionate about El Comedor as we had been for 52 years. OUR STORY
The Haverlandt family welcomes you to the newly renovated El Comedor! We hope you enjoy the updated changes to the interior. Our #1 priority is to ensure the food remains exactly as Great Falls has enjoyed for over 50 years! Funny Story... Sandra and Brett were both raised in Great Falls and have enjoyed the "EL COM" since the restaurant located in the Pin-n-Cue on the West side. On March 16, 1998, by chance, both were enjoying lunch right here when we became "reacquainted." Twenty-four years later & 23 years of marriage, we were offered the opportunity to purchase the business from Diane & Bill Eusterman. Jokingly, we like to say... " SANDRA SAVED THE FLUFFY!" We look forward to serving up the same great food for many years to come.
