📣 Volunteers Needed: Farm Harvest!

Want to spend a morning outside and help get fresh, local food into the community? 🌱🥕

Berkshire Bounty is looking for volunteers to help with farm harvesting in Sheffield throughout the growing season.

Volunteers help harvest fresh produce that will be distributed to local food pantries and community partners across the Berkshires.

This is a hands-on opportunity, so volunteers should be comfortable kneeling, standing, and carrying up to 40 lbs.

If you’re looking for a tangible way to give back – and don’t mind getting your hands a little dirty – we’d love to have you join us.

Farm harvest opportunities run seasonally through October. Sign up through the link in bio or reach out to learn more 💙

Your fall plans have entered the chat 🍎

Fruit tree gleaning season is here, and Berkshire Bounty is looking for volunteers to help harvest fresh fruit that might otherwise go unused – and help get it where it’s needed most.

Upcoming gleaning dates:
📅 10/7 in Mt. Washington

So… what exactly is tree gleaning? 🍎

Tree gleaning is the process of harvesting fruit that might otherwise go unpicked and helping make sure it reaches people who can use it.

With the help of local volunteers, Berkshire Bounty gathers surplus fruit from trees and orchards, then helps move it into the community through local food partners.

It’s a simple idea with a real impact: less good food going to waste, and more fresh food reaching neighbors throughout the Berkshires.

Helping good food go further 🥕💙

Every donation to Berkshire Bounty helps us rescue, purchase, transport, and deliver nutritious food throughout the Berkshires.

That means more fresh produce, more pantry staples, and more food reaching the local organizations and neighbors who need it most.

No gift is too small to make a difference – every dollar helps keep good food moving through our community.

If you’re able to give, visit the link in bio to support Berkshire Bounty today.

Swipe to fill the bag! 🍎

This weekend, we’re teaming up with Sandisfield Orchard to make apple picking do a little extra good.

On Sunday, October 4th, U-Pick customers will receive an additional bag to fill with apples for Berkshire Bounty. Those apples will help add more fresh, locally grown food to the network of community partners we work with throughout the Berkshires.

One bag to take home.
One bag to share with your neighbors.

It’s a simple way to turn a fall tradition into something that supports the wider community — and we’d love to see how much we can pick together.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped us take on 10K for 10 🫐

In celebration of Berkshire Bounty’s 10th anniversary, volunteers came together with the goal of harvesting 10,000 pounds of blueberries to help get more fresh, local food into our community.

We’re so grateful to every person, family, group, and volunteer who showed up, picked, packed, and helped make this effort possible.

And the harvesting season isn’t over yet! 🍎

Fruit tree gleaning has officially begun, and we’d love to have you join us. If you’re able to lend a hand harvesting local fruit for community distribution, check out the link in bio!

So… what does Berkshire Bounty actually do?

At its core, we help good food get where it’s needed most.

That means rescuing food from farms, retailers, and other local sources. It means purchasing fresh, nutritious food when donations alone can’t fill the need. And it means working with volunteers and community partners to help move that food throughout the Berkshires.

We’re not a food pantry ourselves – we help connect the people and places that have food with the organizations and neighbors who need it.

That connection is what keeps good food moving, strengthens our local food network, and helps more people access the food they need.

And there’s a place for you in it 💙
