🍋‍🟩🥤 Who's a fan of lime cola? Well, have we got a coffee you must taste.

🌟 Brand NEW Coffee of the Week: Rainforest Alliance Rwanda Dukunde Kawa Ruli 🌟

Think of this as a coffee version of the popular dirty sodas. Tasting notes include lime, plum, cacao nibs and, yep, COLA!

A bit about this special bean:
Rwanda’s coffee has an important history and terroir entirely unique to the rest of the continent. Coffee was originally forced upon remote communities by the Belgians as a colony-funding cash crop. However, the Belgians invested so little in coffee’s success that they immediately allowed production to decline through lack of investment in coffee farmers and national infrastructure.

Fast forward to the 2000’s and the Partnership for Enhancing Agriculture in Rwanda Through Linkages (PEARL) helped create a robust coffee economy.  Specifically, they helped reestablish long-buried bourbon genetics, creating Rwanda’s signature beans with snappy acidity, stone fruit flavors and fragrant herbaceousness.

We have never before been offered a coffee from Madagascar, so we jumped at the chance to carry this unique bean! This limited edition coffee is an arabica from the center of this diverse island, in the Itasy region. Madagascar is known for its biodiversity and distinct flora and fauna. We are excited to offer this carefully processed coffee with notes of sweet stone fruit and cream.

🌷🌸 The perfect coffee for Spring? Look no further!
Our current Coffee of the Week is a light roast with notes of strawberry, stone fruit & honey. That's the golden spring flavor profile in our opinion. 🍓🍒🍑🍯

🌞 COFFEE OF THE WEEK: Sumatra Lake Toba Samosir Honey

A bit about this special Carolines Premium coffee. The Lintong growing region is known the world over for its renowned coffee. This coffee is grown along the southern shores of Lake Toba in the Lintong region. The lake occupies the caldera of a supervolcano - which means excellent soil quality for the region's coffee crops. (Side anecdote: Lake Toba is the site of the largest known explosive eruption on Earth in the last 25 million years!). 

Producers of this Sumatra Samosir Honey coffee belong to the Hutasoit tribe and maintain a traditional village lifestyle that includes houses which resemble ships ⚓. Seventy percent of the producers are women. 

Sumatra Lake Toba Samosir is a honey processed coffee, which while common in El Salvador and Costa Rica, is rarely seen in Indonesia.  Honey process is between a dry/natural and a wet process, in that the pulp is removed before drying, but the mucilage is left intact.  This concentrates the sugars of the mucilage and gives the dried beans a sticky feel (like honey).
