Hello All!

After much deliberation we have decided that we are going to shut down the Clear Lake Grill page.

We are so grateful that we had the ability to function as the CLG for these past few months, but our purchase was never for the business, as the business was not for sale, it was for the property and a liquor license. Our goal was always to be a new restaurant - Mama’s Mercantile & Eatery.

We think that it will be best and cause the least confusion to strictly move forward as Mama’s from now on. So that way, when people say “you’re changing too much!” we can explain, that yes, we are, we are a NEW restaurant.

Mama’s has officially launched our breakfast and brunch menu on Saturdays and Sundays. The new lunch and dinner menu will roll out in the next month, and we are going to start redoing the interior and exterior shortly as well!

We are so grateful for your continued support. We have had the busiest two weeks since our purchase these past two weeks! Please follow and like our Mama’s page to see all the happenings going forward as this will be our last post here!

On special tonight: our herbaceous Kale Caesar salad. A staple that is on the Mama’s Mercantile & Eatery menu! 🥗

Also freshly made tres leches cake! With whipped cream and cinnamon on top and “drunken strawberries” 🍰

We still have a few portions of enchilada pie and red rice for those craving something a little more meaty.

Specials today are a fresh batch of chili to keep us cozy on this cold day, the last of the stuffed shells, coconut cake!!! And tonight: ”enchilada pie”. Envision lasagna, but with tortillas and beef and peppers and cheese. Yum. Served with a side of red rice!

Specialty cocktails today: pineapple jalapeño margaritas, hot spiked caramel cider, and Mama’s sangria. See you soon Grass Lake.

In addition to our typical Monday Beer + Burger special, today we are also going to do a Beer + Olive Burger special!

For $15 snag an Olive Burger, fries, and any domestic bottle.
Not an alcohol drinker, no worries! Tag on a Detroit Soda Co soda or a fresh brewed coffee instead for $14.

Hey friends, guess what? WE FINALLY HAVE TVS!!!

In honor of being able to broadcast the Lions game tonight we got some great football specials for y’all:

• Honolulu Blue Cheesy Bread. Pineapple, ham, bacon, onion and plenty of cheese baked to perfection.
• Jumbo Deep Fried Pickles. Dill pickle spears hand-battered and fried till golden brown.
• $4 tall Miller Lites.
• $6 Blue Kool-Aid cocktails: vodka, blue curaco, lemonade and sprite with a sugar rim.

• Mama’s Minestrone is our soup of the day. So hearty, delicious, and vegetarian friendly!
• We have raspberry cheesecake bars with a raspberry balsamic drizzle. 😳
• A few pieces of homemade German Chocolate Cake left to enjoy!

Tonight!!: spinach, ricotta and sausage stuffed shells cooked in our house red sauce. Served with a side salad and garlic bread for $23.

Friendly reminder - since new ownership we are open until 9 instead of 8 now! In fact, we have a happy hour that starts every night at 8PM! As the weather warms we will be open even later.

Chin-chin!

Recipe testing doesn’t just have to be for food….

We’ve been busy finalizing our brunch cocktail menu too!

This weekend at the Clear Lake Grill come try out our Candied Paloma. A tangy classic tequila drink, garnished with a caramelized grapefruit slice. 😳

We also have a batch of gin based white sangria we are perfecting! Made with naval oranges, green apples, and mint, and topped with a generous splash of Cava.
