Ya I get it...it's still hot weather, but we also getting sporadic temperature sways some evenings. If you know me....you know I'm addicted to Rhubarb anything, and also to scratch soups. I just made another batch of one of my favorite soups (I say that cautiously as I have hundreds of favorites); my Rosemary Rhubarb Chicken Soup. August means full schedules....Soup & Focaccia...now dinner just got simplified. Check us out Saturday 10am to 2pm!

Yes....yes...yes....we ARE open today. I know many are closed today but we are making sure you have chance for holiday needs if you are a host or a guest. Grilling burgers? Focaccia makes a great sandwich as well as appetizer. Hot temps...iced coffee can be the way to go..making ice cubes of your coffee makes the experience best with no diluting(the pic looks like brownies...but thats happy ice) and if you are gifting your host tomorrow or owe someone a fun bag of coffee...try the mystery brew. These summer holidays become good memories when driving on ice in 4 or 5 months. Seems odd the holiday falls on a Saturday but we close on all holiday days. Sip well!

Thomas Jefferson's birthday was Monday....each year we make dishes he served at Monticello. He was America's 1st Foodie....had TV been invented then he'd have had his own cooking show. He entertained at least 12 guests at dinner every night when at Monticello. Many of his travels were to recruit new recipes to serve guests. Come explore what could be a taste of history for dinner at your home this month....several items more than pic. Given such a lifestyle of leadership I have always expected his level of polish in matters would confirm he'd have the courtesy to RSVP to my invite each year to attend a chance at his own food...as he'd be 283 years old this year I figure he has nothing else to do but come visit...? HIs best quote ever: "...coffee is the favorite drink of the civilized world...." Love his coffee priority in life of course...if he shows up this month he'll go bonkers over our house blend.

Hope u enjoyed the 72 degree summer we had Tuesday...snow flurries last night and 3" possible Sunday. So yes, that means it's still SOUP weather, though I love soup all year. My favorite meal is always any good soup and bread...this happened to be Bosc Pear Feta Gorgonzola Focaccia and also Leek Spud Parmesan Focaccia. If ur looking for simple dinner...! We've already nailed the discussion of the perfect pairing of Soup and Focaccia for a meal. But...u r probably hosting for Superbowl or a guest. The perfect nibble to go with the spread. Just finished a batching of our Classic Focaccia, Roasted Cauliflower Leek, and Jalapeño Spud. I'm here today till 3pm...they r going fast. I love to see what ur making at home in this chill....ideal kitchen time when it's so cold. Having the right kitchen tools makes ur own home-soup-making experience even more fun....I've just made several more Cutting Boards of various sizes to enhance a fun kitchen day with a good knife! Bet you already have ur Christmas colors up on display in the neighborhood....we do TOO! Check out these greens and reds of our Classic Focaccia Bread and also our Jalapeño Cherry Pepper! We will be open Wednesday December 24th from 10am to 4pm. We will take family time the 25th and 26th and open again the 27th. If ur hosting for Christmas or need a carry in gift for ur host Focaccia might do the trick!
