Our hearts are heavy as we share the loss of Andrew “Goomba” Hamlin—someone who meant so much to so many. Whether you knew him from Bear Ridge, the mines, MN Star, or just from crossing paths in the community, you knew he had a way of leaving an impression that stuck. Andrew was hardworking, genuine, and deeply loved—but above all, he was a proud father. He leaves behind his son, Preston, who will be turning three years old this August. Preston was everything to Andrew. Everything he did, every long shift he worked, every job he took on—it all came back to making a life for his “Little Man.” That kind of love doesn’t go away, even in loss. And as a community, we want to make sure that love continues to show up for Preston as he grows.
This fundraiser is being created with one purpose: to support Preston’s future. All donations will be set aside for him to access when he’s older—something he can use for school, a first car, a home, or whatever path he chooses in life. This is about giving him a foundation, a small piece of security, and a reminder that he is surrounded by people who care about him deeply. Andrew may not be here to walk beside his son as he grows, but through this, we can help carry forward the love and effort he poured into being a father.
