As if this story couldn’t get any better… Randi has found her way home.

She was picked up Friday, Valentine’s Day, and already home napping with her owner, safe and sound. We don’t think the timing could have been better.

“A blessing in disguise” is how this little guys dad described the whole situation, and we couldn’t agree more. Randi has made such a movement of kindness, and she has lived a fun little life in her time being gone from home.

After the sweet kiddos brought in more stuffed animals to keep Randi company… it got us thinking. Why not spread the love outside the walls of Sandy’s?!

We’ve placed a bin in front of the shop and we will be collecting brand new stuffed animals now through February. At the end of the month, we will fill the delivery van with stuffed friends that need a new bestie and loads of donuts. We will then take them and go spread love at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. The stuffies will find new kiddos and the donuts will find very deserving staff members.

February is the month of love, and there is no better place than the Westside that spreads it ❤️

A little note from the owner:

I’ve been a part of the Sandy’s family for over 20 years. I know how much of a “time trap” it can be when you walk through the doors, and how 99% of all people are nothing but happy when they set their eyes on donuts. I love how we get “pay it forwards” in line so frequently it almost feels normal. I love how multiple generations of families come in and sit together and laugh and bring their new spouse or brand new babies. We’ve seen baby announcements, engagements and we’ve been lucky enough to tell some men they’re going to be a dad for the first time. People have met on first dates at Sandy’s and then gotten married and had our donuts as their dessert. We’ve done birthday cakes every single year of people’s lives, all the way from 1-21! Sandy’s is so much a part of the Westside and so many of your lives… and us and our staff feel the exact same way.

When I posted the picture of Randi the puppy a few days ago, I had NO IDEA it would blow up the way it did. I had no idea someone would write an article about it. And I CERTAINLY did not know that other littles would bring in animals so that Randi wouldn’t have to be alone. This is now another beautiful and incredibly wholesome part of the Sandy’s story. It makes me so proud of the Westside, and of the beautiful humans raising beautiful humans to think of this.

Thank you to each and every single one of you who make us a part of your days, your weeks, and your lives. Thank you for sharing your special moments with us. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your families. Thank you for in turn being a part of ours. And THANK YOU for always thinking of your neighbors… whether they be real or just real in the minds of their little owners. The impact is long lasting and such a blessing when the world can feel so heavy sometimes.

We are currently taking applications and hiring for the perfect fit for a SATURDAY position! Looking for someone great with customers, prompt, reliable and on time and a great team player to fit in with the best team around!

Starting time between 6-7 on Saturday mornings, and work until approximately 2-3pm! 2-3 Saturdays per month! Possible option to add more time if available!
