A little behind the scenes into our life.

Saturday Mike turned 60 (which is the new 30!) We were able to keep this a secret between six kids, grandkids and the entire front staff in on the secret for the last few MONTHS. We found a house that slept all six kids + spouses, Mike & Lindsy, and all the grandkids. We hatched a plan to get him not questioning a trip across the border into Indiana. We executed it and we had the best 36 hours together celebrating *the man* behind it all. You guys see the guy behind your favorite donut shop, but to us he is *THE* guy that makes us all laugh, always has a story to tell (although it might be the same story for the 45th time), says exactly the first thought in his brain, and loves every single person gathered in that house with his entire heart. We are all so proud to have surprised him like this, and to have brought in this next decade together celebrating Mike.

Thank you for all the birthday wishes for him, and for the overwhelming support when we close for events such as this. (Although the fact that he has been the only one whose closed the bakery over the last twenty three and a half years, and he knew nothing about it this time might have been the biggest surprise of all!)

Now that the surprise party has started to unfold, we can give everyone the news. We will be CLOSED Saturday August 29 to celebrate our owner’s birthday! In order for the whole family to be able to attend and be included, closing is the only way to do it. (And since it’s kind of a big one, we decided YOLO 🤪)
