It is time once again to introduce the newest member of our Choo Choo Grill family. Rick and I are happy to share the news of our newest granddaughter, Edith Elaine Hazen. She is the third child of our daughter Shiloh Mack and Nolan Hazen. Edith was born on Friday April 18th and joins our other 20 grandchildren bringing our total to 21. We are blessed.

Our Choo Choo family has grown a little larger. We would like you to meet Sloan Rosie Mack. She was born two weeks ago and is the third daughter of our son Kinian and his wife Nicole. She is our eleventh grand daughter, and she joins our nine grandsons, bringing our total to twenty! We are blessed.

Edit: Just to clarify this post. The restaurant has NOT been sold yet. We are ready to sell and retire but for now we are open our regular hours. We will let you all know when it sells and give you our last day of operation. “ See you tomorrow”

To our faithful Choo Choo friends.

It is an exciting yet sad time for us as we move forward with selling our beloved restaurant and look ahead at our plans to enjoy retirement. With seven children and nineteen grandchildren, we will be kept plenty busy traveling, fishing, babysitting and baking cookies.

As we are moving closer to the time when we will no longer see your smiling faces and be able to serve you up some of the best food in Grand Rapids we want you all to know that for now, we are still open. Rick, Kathy and Mary along with our two daughters Alaina and Shiloh look forward to continuing to serve you up great food and memories over the next few months.

Our Amazing Eighteen has just grown to our Novel Nineteen. Welcome to the Choo Choo family little Mr. Sullivan Rome Lewis. Our daughter Alaina Lewis and her husband Andy Lewis along with their four other children are super excited that Sullivan has joined the family. Papa and Mema are pretty happy too!

Had a longtime customer told me yesterday that his wife was in church last week and was told by another parishioner that the Choo Choo had been sold! Nothing could be further from the truth. We have not been sold and are open and serving up great burgers and breakfast every day and will be until a sale of the property happens. If and when that happens we will be sure to let all of our great customers and followers know. Thanks and see ya tomorrow.
