i’m Melissa. I make the desserts, answer the emails, tie the cake pop ribbons, pack the Secret Stash boxes, and avoid being photographed whenever possible. so please accept this old candid as proof of life.

the name came from my past life owning a personal training studio. I started Cheat Day Sweets in February 2020, excellent timing, obviously, and for a few years, I lived in both worlds: fitness studio by day, dessert orders somewhere in between. back then, the name was very literal. now it’s just the whole personality.

my first priority is always that the desserts actually taste good. looking pretty is great, but tasting like something people remember is the whole point.

chocolate raspberry was the first cupcake flavor I ever put on the menu, and it’s still one people ask for all the time.

no storefront over here, so Secret Stash is how I let people get their hands on the fun stuff between weddings and events.

when I’m not baking, I do food + drink photography over at Melissa | Food & Beverage Photography through my creative business, Drop Shadow Design.
so if you’re into moody drinks, food photos, and all that good stuff, come hang out with me there too.

also, Cheat Day got a little logo refresh because it was time. same desserts. updated new look.
