I think it’s fair to say, we have been slacking on our social media. But frankly, who cares.
It’s a busy life having two babies and a restaurant. Lots of people misunderstand that having your own place is “making it”. Truth is, you have to show up and “make it” every single day. It’s not always fun. Sometimes it’s painful. It’s hard not being able to be with your babies all the time, and yes, guests can be quite prickly at times.
But, we aren’t alone. We have a small army of regulars that I would bust down a brick wall to be able to serve. We get to work with the coolest farmers in the state. We got good w**e, and good food. That’s all it is. And we are lucky to know some amazing friends doing the same work all over the country. So we don’t always take a good picture for a post. Whatever.
Last month we celebrated being open for five whole years. That’s a pretty huge milestone for any small business, but maybe especially for a restaurant. We have worked through dining restrictions, masking the whole staff up, tariffs, online bullying, vandalism, and some unpleasant folks. And let me be the first to say, we takin unphased and unmoved. This is our corner baby.
For the rest of the summer, we promise to post some things sometimes. I have always said it doesn’t matter what the menu is as long as you come in for a good time. If you leave here hunger, that’s your fault. So get high, stop by and have a banging time at Café Mamo.
Here are a couple photos from our trip to San Francisco, where we decided to work with our time off and do a banging dinner at Jules and see this temple of dough my sick ass friend has built there.
Stay classy Mamo Heads! Fight the power! Eat some dinner!
