A little Wingdings update! 📰

If you missed it the Gothenburg Leader recently featured Wingdings and shared the story of how this all got started! We wanted to share the article here in case you missed it. Thank you to the Leader for taking the time to share our story and help spread the word about Wingdings!

We are continuing to inch closer and closer to getting the space finished, and believe us… we are just as anxious to open as you are! 😂

We do have a few exciting things happening with our family that we want to give our time to before we jump into opening. We’re getting ready to welcome a new member to the family 🥰 AND celebrate a special birthday with some of our extended family! 🎉

So for now, we’re going to soak up these special moments, keep working away at Wingdings, and keep you all updated along the way!

We’ll be sharing more about hiring, an opening date, and everything in between as we get closer.

We promise we’ll open those doors as soon as we can!!

Thanks for being patient, following along, and getting excited with us. We’re getting there!!

Although we aren’t quite ready to share the whole thing yet, we wanted to give a shoutout to Logan Poe and his crew from Noble Builders of Iowa! 👏🏻 They came all the way from Iowa to build our beautiful new bar and help with so many other projects along the way. Thank you again to them!

Here’s a look at the stain going on this week, thanks to Fran Linegar Painting LLC! This is truly bringing the whole look together, and we’re so grateful for all of her hard work!

Every project makes this feel more and more real and shows a glimpse of all our visions coming to life!! 🤩

What are you MOST excited for at Wingdings??
Wings? Sports? Drinks? Atmosphere? … or maybe KENO?! 🎰

** We are still specifically looking for newspaper clippings from the sports section. If you have any you’d be willing to donate, please reach out to us! **

YAYY! 🎉 We have some BIG progress happening on the outside of the building!!

A HUGE thank you to Show Time Painting, LLC for painting the building and Tri City Sign Company for our new sign! 🙌🏼

Although we still have a few finishing touches to make on the outside, it’s SO fun to see everything starting to come together and make this whole thing feel real.

There’s still plenty to do, and we have an amazing crew working inside this week on the new bar, lighting, and so many other projects. We can’t wait to keep sharing the progress with you all… while still keeping a few surprises up our sleeves for opening day! 👀

As always, we need to get you all involved! This time, we want to know:

❓❓What’s your FAVORITE wing flavor❓❓

Classic buffalo? Garlic parm? BBQ? Something fun and different? We have some fun ideas but tell us your go-to! ⬇️

It’s been awhile… 👀

We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes tackling demo, so there hasn’t been a lot of exciting updates to share just yet.

But… last week we officially finalized the plans for our brand new bar, and construction for that will be underway very soon! 🎉

You might also notice the front of our building getting a little TLC in the coming weeks… you’ll just have to drive by and check out the progress for yourself. 😉

There’s still a lot of work ahead, but it’s finally starting to feel real. We can’t wait to watch everything come together and welcome you all through our doors this fall!

** NOW WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! **

COMMENT BELOW - What are your favorite bar appetizers and go-to drinks? We’re looking for ideas of what YOU would love to see on our menu!

We just wanted to say THANK YOU for all of the support, shares, comments, and excitement after our first post! The amount of love and encouragement already shown to Wingdings means so much to us.

We are so excited to bring something special to Gothenburg and can’t wait to continue sharing updates with you all as things come together.

Here is a short video to show you all what we’ve been working on. Thank you for being part of this journey with us, we are just getting started! 🫶🏻

Welcome to the official Wingdings Bar + Grill page!

As we get things going, we’d love to celebrate the sports history and memories that make Gothenburg special. If you have any old local sports newspaper clippings, photos, or favorite athletic memories, send them our way or share them in the comments.

We’d love to showcase pieces of our community’s sports history in the bar — your clipping or memory could even end up featured on our walls!!

More updates on the bar coming soon! 😁
