This Bear did not ever hibernate in the winter but sadly as this mud season ends, it’s now seemingly time to head to the cave. The Bear regretfully has to close its doors but seeks to someday, as soon as possible open new ones locally.
I apologize for the brevity in such a sincere case of communicating to you, those who have been our beloved customers throughout our two years of operating. You have been the reason I jumped from bed every morning, fired the biscuits daily, put out the flag daily to the sounds of the Gorham Town Hall bell and continued 100hr work weeks never once compromising virtues, values or quality.
I will consistently have magnificent memories of first time customer responses to The Bear, I will never, ever forget all of our regulars and in daydreams, I will relive experiences that were had serving so many gracious and incredibly thankful people. I’ll spend many days reviling in the flashback images of so many unfeigned smiles and I’ll playback so many moments when I said to myself, “This is it. This is what is was all for. We did it.” It really was a dining room that acted as a living room for the community. It really did never once lower its quality standards and it really did make hundreds, maybe thousands say wholeheartedly, “We’ll be back.” Your thanks and patronage made every second of effort worth it all and I owe you all the return of the same graciousness and salutation… So I say with inexhaustible passion and confidence, “Thank you. We’ll be back."
