It’s hard to put into words what the last 5 years have meant to me. I spent a lot of time in Texas for a job, fell in love with the food and culture there and wanted to bring that back to New York. In the middle of the pandemic, I couldn’t travel, I couldn’t see friends or family, and I felt disconnected, without a community, without direction. .smoke started as a dream and a cure to these feelings and became so much more, thanks to YOU—my incredible customers, friends, and family.
Your support, love for BBQ, and shared memories made this journey unforgettable. As life takes me south, the future of Swaggertown Smoke isn’t clear. But this isn’t “goodbye”—it’s “what’s next”. I’ll keep the website running, the posts coming, sauce and swag selling, and I’ll ALWAYS be free to chat about BBQ and give tips and tricks of the trade so keep following if you please.
In the meantime, if you are a food pop up owner or just do a lot of cooking or catering, I’ve got a lot of stuff that I’m looking to offload. You’re in great hands Upstate New York! There is great BBQ here from and you’ll always find amazing food from and and you can never go wrong with the best things that go with BBQ from and .
Here’s some throwback posts (the first little OKJoe smoker, the first on-site event, the breakthrough BBQ platter) to the past 5 years of smoky goodness and the possibility of what’s to come. Thank you for being part of the community. ❤️
