Traditional and authentic Middle Eastern and European pastries are the results of a family history in the baking industry for over 40 years. In 1983, Sarkis Pastry was introduced in the United States by being the first Middle Eastern/Armenian bakery in Glendale. Expanding into new locations, Sarkis Pastry next opened a shop in Anaheim in 1995. Soon after in 1999, the newest of 3 locations was open

ed in Pasadena. Presently, all 3 locations are moving forward serving their respective communities. "The daintily shaped baklava and kunafa pastries are the loyalty of the Near Eastern sweets, indeed." writes Linda Burum, in her Los Angeles Times article, referring to Sarkis' famous hand rolled baklava.
