Flashback to 2015 when the view from our dining room looked like this as you looked north. 8 years later, we are about to begin our next significant renovation with the expansion of Peoria Artisan Brewery.
I’ve received quite a few questions regarding the status of our project so wanted to get our PAB family up to speed. Here is where we are so far in the build out and expansion:
- September 2022: Began negotiations with our landlord on the lease.
- October 2022: Finalized the new lease agreement
- November 1, 2022: Took possession of the additional space
- February 2023: Obtained demo permit, completed demo, performed architectural scan of demoed space, completed interior design
- April 4, 2023: 1st Submittal of full construction drawings to City of Peoria for permitting
- May 4, 2023: Received 1st review comments from City of Peoria
- June 9, 2023: 2nd Submittal of construction drawings to City of Peoria for permitting
- July 10, 2023: Received 2nd review comments from City of Peoria
- July 27, 2023: Completed revisions to construction drawings per 2nd review comments and finalizing submission to City of Peoria, completed contract with GC to begin preparation for construction.
We are 100% ready to begin construction upon approval with all the i’s dotted and t’s crossed in blood, sweat and a whole lotta money. Once we break ground, we will undergo approximately 14 weeks of build-out during which we will briefly undergo a closure of approximately one week to tie together the separate areas and expand our existing kitchen.
When the dust settles we will have constructed a hospitality experience unlike any other in our NW Valley home. It will continue to be authentically PAB with 100% independent local ownership and all scratch from grain to glass and farm to table.
I’m sure you’re wondering, “So, when you gonna open Matt?” We will open our new space to commercial operations before the end of the year. I’d love to provide a date and time but after 10 years I know that the definitive things in life such as death and taxes also include that a restaurant and brewery will never open on the planned date announced prior to the end of construction.
We have so much awesomeness in store for all of you and we cannot wait to share.
