Overview – Everest Café is a Nepalese and Indian restaurant operating out of Royal Garden in Glendale. I ordered takeout from them.
Garlic Naan – Thin pieces of naan were slightly tough and barely crispy. They were garlicy but not to aggressively/sharply garlicy.
Paneer Makhani – Tender, slightly spongy paneer. Sweet and fairly savory gravy with a balanced richness.
Nepalese Curry – Chicken thigh in a mixture of chunks and shredded bits. Garlic and ginger character with moderate heat. The chicken sat in a light braise liquid and was moist. Simple but flavorful.
Egg Drop Soup – Simple. Tasted like chicken stock thickened with corn starch and streams of egg.
Summary – I found Everest Café to be quite enjoyable and definitely one of the better/more interesting options for takeout in the North Shore. Their menu, in combination with Royal Garden’s, is very large and covers American-Chinese, Indian, Nepalese, and even some Indo-Chinese dishes. It’s sure to suite a wide range of tastes.
