In three weeks, the Sign of the Buck will celebrate our third birthday. It has been a wild ride, and we couldn’t be more pleased to see how far we’ve come—because of you. We didn’t build this restaurant for the people who visit our special town—though we value them, too!—we built it for our community and all the people who make this town great.

We were touched to learn that readers of Celebrate Gettysburg magazine voted us the Best Restaurant in town as well as a favorite for Best Romantic Dinner Spot! We are humbled and grateful for the recognition and want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your patronage and support. Come on back now, ya hear?

Before heading to the Majestic to see Ridley Scott’s 1982 sci-fi masterpiece “Blade Runner” tonight, tuck into the Buck to try The Replicant, featuring Suntory Toki whiskey, honey simple, orange and mango bitters, and an orange twist.

Fun fact: Originally a box office bomb, this film—adapted from Philip K. Dick’s novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?”—went on to become a cult classic.

In honor of our town’s profound Civil War legacy, the Sign of the Buck now offers three drinks inspired by historic cocktails of the era. To pay homage to the brave Pennsylvania soldiers who staged a frenzied and legendary defense on McPherson’s Ridge at the Battle of Gettysburg, we’re calling them Bucktails!

Three Pennsylvania infantry regiments proudly wore deer tails on their caps—a symbol of their elite status as expert marksmen—and fought together as the “Bucktail Brigade” at Gettysburg.

Whiskey Daisy - Old Forester bourbon, gum syrup, orgeat, lemon

Before heading to the Majestic Theater to see “The Mighty Ducks” tonight, pop into the Buck to try the Zimlet—a twist on a classic gimlet named after our very own sous chef and Ducks fan, Zach Reppert!—featuring Empress Indigo gin, basil simple, and, of course, a hearty dose of lime juice.

Fun fact: Disney CEO Michael Eisner founded the Anaheim Ducks in 1993 to capitalize on the massive success of the 1992 movie.
