My brain:
“Let’s overthink this until we’ve imagined every possible way it could go wrong.”

God:
“Or… you could just talk to Me.” 🤍

And whew. Because how many times have we:

Replayed the conversation 47 times.
Created problems that haven’t even happened yet.
Tried to figure out tomorrow, next week, and six months from now.
Asked everyone for advice.
Scrolled for answers.
Stayed awake worrying about things completely outside of our control…

Before we ever stopped to pray.

I’m learning that I don’t have to have every answer.
I don’t have to predict every outcome.
I don’t have to carry tomorrow before it gets here.

I can just bring it to God.

Because prayer isn’t supposed to be my last resort after I’ve exhausted myself overthinking.

It should be the first place I go. 🤍

“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7

I’m learning that faith isn’t pretending I’m never worried. Faith is admitting that I’m worried and choosing to pray anyway. It’s taking the fear out of my hands and placing it in God’s, again and again, until my heart remembers where it is safest.

I hope you know that when God looks at you, He doesn’t see all the things you criticize about yourself.

He doesn’t look at you and see the mistakes you keep replaying.
The ways you’ve fallen short.
The messy parts of your story.
The version of yourself you wish you could change.

He sees His child.

Loved.
Chosen.
Known.
Wanted.

You don’t have to earn His love by being a better wife, a better mom, a better Christian, or a more put-together version of yourself.

You are already deeply loved by the One who created you.

So the next time you look in the mirror and immediately notice everything you think is wrong with you, remember this:
You are looking at someone Jesus thought was worth dying for. 🤍

You were never asked to be perfect.
You were asked to be His.

God, go before us into this new week.
Give us patience for the moments that test us, wisdom for the decisions we cannot avoid, and peace when our minds try to carry too much.

Protect our children.
Steady our homes.
Guide our steps.

And remind us that we were never meant to carry everything alone.

Go before us in the places we cannot see yet, and give us grace for whatever this week brings.
Amen. 🤍
