We are sad to announce that by the end of this summer, The Counting House will be closing. The building that our restaurant currently resides in, The Brick Hotel, is being leased to an outside vendor and we will not be moving locations.

Although this is a bitter sweet moment, we look back on our time here on the Circle as a pillar in the Georgetown community and are proud of our accomplishments as a restaurant. From our bourbon dinners to weddings, we are incredibly grateful to have served you since opening our doors in August of 2018.

We also would like to say a big thank-you to our dedicated staff who have contributed to making The Counting House a success. Through our grand opening, COVID-19 to now, without you, we would not have had our success.

We will announce a closing date soon but we are still currently open for business. Again, thank you for all of your support and for sharing our love of great food, drink and music.

As we continue our hiring search, we will be making temporary changes to our current hours of operation. Starting in the first week of May (next week), we will be reducing our hours to Thursday-Saturday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

We have made this decision to give our team a well-deserved break in-between their shifts. We are incredibly grateful for your business and are honored our community has supported us thorough COVID-19 and beyond. Unfortunately, without additional staffing, our incredible but small team is unable to handle the peak in our business.

As an employer, it is our responsibility to care for the well-being of our employees. To ensure the best dining experience for you possible, we need to reduce our hours until we can find additional staffing.

As we expand our team, we look forward to opening our roof top for dinning and music soon. We are also looking forward to providing catering and venue services for weddings, parties, and other events. Please note that our updated hours will not impact our scheduled events or music performances.

We appreciate your understanding and support on this matter. We will be sure to keep you updated as we continue to grow our team and are able to resume normal hours of operation.

A few facts about TCH chef & owner Bill Clifton...

👨‍🍳 Bill is a classically trained chef who trained at the French Laundry and many other renowned restaurants in his career.
👨‍🍳 He was inspired by Chicago's diverse culinary scene as a culinary student which has now influenced TCH's menu.
👨‍🍳 Raised on a Delaware farm, Bill is an advocate for the local agriculture community and has made TCH a true farm-to-table restaurant.
