So you think we have challenges?
I bring you the story of a 9-year-old from Geneva, Alabama.
Tyleigh Skye Hill has bone cancer, yet she’s keeping her head in up while inspiring the world.
She knows she has a tough road ahead.
She knows within the week she will know if doctors will reconstruct her leg or amputate it.
It was last winter when Tyleigh Skye complained of leg pain during basketball season.
She complained further last spring when softball season came along.
“She was diagnosed on July 17th,” Tyleigh Skye’s mom Brittney Wiggins told me.
“It’s osteosarcoma- bone cancer,” added Brittney.
“The next several weeks will tell us a lot.”
Doctors at Children’s of Alabama have done scans on Tyleigh Skye’s left tibia.
If the leg can be saved, doctors will take Tyleigh Skye’s right fibula and use it to rebuild the left leg.
If not, they will amputate the leg.
Tyleigh Skye will know within days which way surgeons will go.
Tyleigh Skye Hill loves a lot about her life.
She loves basketball and softball.
She loves Chicken Alfredo, her wooden cross and her cat named Socks.
She loves her siblings Deveah Rein Jules Breeze.
Tyleigh Skye is anxious and nervous, worried and sleepless as she’s days away from the doctor’s decision.
She’s praying her leg can be saved so she can play basketball again.
She’s hoping she can live a great life after receiving one of the most frightening diagnoses ever.
It’s a crucial week for Tyleigh Skye Hill.
She will hold her head high as she marches on to hear about her most recent scans.
Let’s tell Tyleigh Skye we are praying for her.
