So this is gonna be one of those good news, bad news kinda posts.

The bad news being that the doctor told me that about 60% of my eardrum is now gone, and that's what's causing my balance issues to return. The only way it's going to get better is by having reconstructive surgery to repair it, and while I'm at it, I may as well have the surgery (that the doctor has been telling me about for 3 years, but I've been putting off) to try to relieve the Meniere's disease.

In the meantime, he's got me dropping steroids in my ear twice a day to allow me some basic functionality. Which seem to be working, but still, any gentle breeze from the wrong direction and I'll go down like a fainting goat.

What this means is that until I get that done, I'm going to be open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday only, while I've got the crew there. I've still got to talk with them to figure out what hours they're available, and what opening and closing times will be. I'm going to do my level best to work behind the scenes to cook and prep. I'll let you know how that goes.

I guess that's the good news (kinda sorta). Because the other option would be to just close for the season. I did say that none of the options were very good.

Anyway, I suppose things could always be worse, and I'll keep you posted with the new hours. I do know that the guys are scheduled for 4 tomorrow. So that's probably gonna be opening time tomorrow.

Yesterday I saw my doctor to treat a flare up of my Meniere's disease. If you don't know what that is, Google it. If you do know, then you will probably have a better understanding of my situation.
What I learned was not good news, and has left me with limited options. None of which are good. However, I am not ready to make a decision as to which option will be best just yet.
For right now I'm just going to say that the shop will be closed again today while I wrestle with this, as well as try to allow the meds to do their job. Restoring my balance. Hopefully they work, and I won't have to make a decision at all, but I'll keep everyone posted.

Important news:
Effin Burrito will be closed tomorrow (Sunday 7/26) so I can attend my niece's wedding, as well as Monday (7/27) for a doctor's appointment.
Tuesday is still looking good though.

It's already getting pretty warm here, and I have a strict personal limit of 1 heat stroke per year. Having already used that up 2 weeks ago, I'm gonna err on the side of caution and keep the shop closed today. I'll see you all on Thursday.

After spending last week cooking in a record heat wave, and getting through a holiday weekend, I find myself in need of a day off to recover. Effin Burrito will be closed today (Monday 7/6). I'll be back on the regularly scheduled program tomorrow.
