🛟 When a beach hazard warning goes out for Southwest Lower Michigan, there’s a good chance Bob Dukesherer wrote it.
Bob is a 33-year veteran of the U.S. National Weather Service (NWS), serving as Senior Forecaster and Marine Program Manager at the Grand Rapids office.
He issues forecasts and warnings for 23 counties across Southwest Lower Michigan and a large portion of Lake Michigan. He also works closely with the Michigan DNR, U.S. Coast Guard, and other marine safety organizations to help make sure those warnings reach the people who need them.
For 25 years, Bob has been one of the leading voices in the Great Lakes’ rip current and beach hazards effort.
At our conference, Bob will bring that experience to South Haven for a session on beach forecasting—what goes into the warnings you rely on, how to use them, and how they can help you make better decisions for your shoreline. 🌊
