Minnesota summer is bringing the heat. If you're looking for a cool place to start your morning, we've got cakes with the perfect sweet-and-tangy combination waiting for you. Today's special is a Strawberry Rhubarb Shortstack.

As you go through your day stay hydrated, check on your neighbors, and if you eat out today, take an extra moment to thank the cooks working over blazing grills in kitchens that are even hotter than the weather. They earn every bite.

A Bite of History: Minnesota helped shape the American breakfast table. Our state has long been one of the nation's largest producers of oats, and the grain mills of Minneapolis helped make hot cereal and hearty breakfasts a staple in homes across the country. Around here, we just believe pancakes deserve a seat at that table too.

Come beat the heat before it beats you. We'll keep the coffee hot, the pancakes hotter, and the air conditioning doing its very best.

Today’s feature is our Red, White & Blue Freedom Shortstack—with enough patriotic deliciousness to make Uncle Sam ask for seconds.

A Bite of History - Today marks America’s 250th birthday—250 years since a bold group of founders signed their names to what many called an impossible idea: that ordinary people could govern themselves. The Declaration of Independence launched what became known as the Great American Experiment, and against plenty of long odds… it’s still going. Not bad for a document written with a quill, no spellcheck, and a room full of people who definitely would’ve argued in the comments section if social media had existed.

Whether you’re heading to the lake, firing up the grill, or simply trying to convince your relatives that pancakes count as patriotic food, we hope your day is filled with laughter, good company, and grateful hearts.

Make time for family, celebrate the freedoms we enjoy, and stay safe this Fourth of July.

Today's special is our Berry Bourbon Short Stack—fluffy pancakes with fresh berries and house-made bourbon syrup.

We're also celebrating all the dads, grandpas, stepdads, and father figures who make a difference every day. A special congratulations to our owner and chef, Eric, on the arrival of his fifth child, Sunny Rae, this last month.

Sundays are for pancakes… and this Raspberry Cheesecake Shortstack is giving us plenty to love. Today’s special stacks fluffy pancakes with sweet raspberries and creamy cheesecake for the perfect Sunday treat.

Bite of History: Cheesecake dates back more than 2,000 years and was even served to athletes during the ancient Olympic Games. We think adding raspberries was an excellent upgrade.

In Minnesota, the first harvest of fresh rhubarb should be the official start of summer. Forget the calendar—if there’s rhubarb in the garden, summer has arrived.

Today’s shortstack special is loaded with sweet strawberries, tangy rhubarb, and all the summer flavor you’ve been waiting for. If your grandma had a favorite season, there’s a good chance it started with rhubarb.

A Bite of History - Rhubarb was first grown for medicine, not dessert. It wasn't until the 1700s, when sugar became more affordable, that people began baking it into the pies and treats we love today.
