GoodFellas movie trivia, did you know:

Goodfellas was shot almost entirely in sequence, a nearly unheard-of practice in Hollywood because Martin Scorsese wanted the cast to actually age into their characters on screen. Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, and Robert De Niro weren’t just acting the passage of time. They were living it, scene by scene, take by take.

Jimmy Conway was Robert De Niro’s greatest role.

Jimmy Burke was the real thing.
The man behind the character orchestrated the biggest cash robbery in American history, eliminated nearly everyone who knew about it, and was never charged with a single murder.

He died in prison in 1996. The $6 million was never found.

We keep the story alive every night at 661 Midland Ave, Garfield NJ.

Ray Liotta walked onto Goodfellas as the new guy in a cast filled with actors who had already worked together for years.

Martin Scorsese later said Liotta immediately fit into the film’s heavily improvisational style and made it feel like they had been working together for years.

Henry Hill himself was very real.

Hill spent decades around New York organized crime before eventually becoming an FBI informant and entering the Witness Protection Program.

Basically: Ray Liotta wasn’t playing a fictional gangster.

He was playing the guy who lived long enough to tell the story.
