This one is a little bittersweet to write.
Two years ago, we opened the doors of Sweet Caroline’s in Gardendale hoping this community would give us a chance. You did so much more than that.
More than 100,000 scoops later, we’ve watched families come through our doors, celebrated birthdays with you, watched kids pick out their favorite flavors, gotten to know our regulars, and made memories in that little shop that we’ll carry with us for a long time.
Now it’s time for Sweet Caroline’s to say goodbye to Gardendale and hand the keys over to a new tenant, City Street Scoops.
The name and signs will change, but thankfully, you’ll still be able to walk through those same doors for great ice cream and coffee — including the Ice Cream Club ice cream so many of you love.
To every person who bought a scoop, brought your family, told a friend, shared a post, or simply chose to support a local business: thank you. You gave us two years we’ll never forget.
We hope you’ll welcome City Street Scoops and show them the same love you showed Sweet Caroline’s.
A quick note as we make this transition:
Katie, one of the previous owners of Sweet Caroline’s, stepped away from the business in December and has not been involved in its ownership or operations since that time. We kindly ask that any questions regarding Sweet Caroline’s or this transition be directed to Colby or sent directly to this business page.
Gift Card Reminder: Sweet Caroline’s gift cards will be honored at City Street Scoops until 10/31/26. Any unused balances after that are redeemable at the Leeds location.
