Big D's Q doesnt just have some of the best seasonings and sauce, they have some of the hugest hearts in all of bbq. Blessed to know them and call them family!
Only in Chewalla… 😂
Tonight in the big city of Chewalla, Tennessee — population 150 — an 18-wheeler was pulled over near Chewalla Baptist Church.
Big D happened to be driving by and, seeing a semi looking a little out of place, pulled over to make sure the driver wasn’t broken down.
He wasn’t.
He was looking for Big D’s Q. 😂
Big D asked if he had a delivery.
“Nah, man. I’m headed to the restaurant. So many people have told me it’s the best ribs and BBQ you’ll ever eat. I’m getting some for supper and was planning to take my driving break there. But I timed out before I got there.”
Well… Big D had to break the bad news.
The address online isn’t a restaurant. It’s our home office, where we run the seasoning and sauce side of Big D’s Q. We’re a food truck and caterers — no brick-and-mortar restaurant hiding down a backroad in Chewalla. 😂
But if you know Big D Q, you know that wasn’t going to be the end of the story.
It didn’t take long to rally the troops.
We weren’t smoking anything fresh tonight, but Rodney dug into our personal stash and found some brisket slices in the freezer. We added some mac & cheese and a big sweet tea, and before long our unexpected guest had himself a Big D’s Q supper. Even Christy got to stop by and say hello.
One thing about us: we may not have a brick-and-mortar restaurant, but we’re going to do our best not to let anybody who drives all the way out to see us to leave Big D’s Q hungry.
We’re thankful we got to bring a little happiness — and a little BBQ — to a truck driver who was willing to take an 18-wheeler off route to find our little rural headquarters.
And we owe this whole happenstance meeting to YOU.
Apparently, y’all have been out there telling folks our ribs and BBQ are worth driving for.
Tonight, somebody took you literally. 😂❤️
Thank y’all for continuing to spread the word about Big D’s Q. We sure hope our new friend enjoyed his supper — and next time, we’ll try to make sure he knows where the food truck is parked! 🐷🔥
