🌊 Harborside Clean Up – Galveston | Event #4 is this Sunday!
Join us Tomorrow, Sunday, June 28, 8–9 AM as we keep cleaning and preserving Galveston's working harbor and ship channel.
📍 Where: Meet at Pier 21, Harborside Dr & Moody Ave — in front of Willie G's. We'll be set up at Hendley Green Park, right where the Groovy Grind Coffee Co. truck and Mel's Blueplate Diner will be with us.
✍️ When you arrive: Come by the table to add your name, number, and email to the sign-up sheet — that's how we keep you posted on future events, updates, and news.
🅿️ Parking: Free street parking until 9 AM. After that, you can pay by phone in the app (1-hour minimum — only a couple of bucks; no 30-minute option).
🧤💦 Trash bags, gloves, and water bottles are provided. Please wear close-toed shoes, and feel free to bring trash pickers, extra bags, or any tools you have! They are welcomed and appreciated.
💪Here's the plan:
We'll split into four groups to cover the alleyways between The Strand and Harborside, plus Harborside on the way back.
🥾Two groups head east four blocks — one cleaning the alleys, one along Harborside. After four blocks, both turn back: the alley crew picks up along The Strand, and the Harborside crew works the Pier 21 side of the road back toward Moody.
🥾The other two groups go west four blocks toward Rosenberg, same plan — one in the alleys, one along Harborside. After four blocks, both turn back: the alley crew cleans The Strand, and the Harborside crew takes the Pier 21 side back toward Moody.
🧼 We’ll regroup at our central spot in Hendley Green Park around 9, where soap and water will be on hand to wash up.
☕️🍳Once you’re cleaned up, stay and connect with fellow volunteers over free breakfast courtesy of Mel’s Blueplate Diner, plus 20% off coffee from Groovy Grind Coffee Co.
