The Taco Hideout

The Taco Hideout Keep in mind this was before the Taco Bells and all of the other chains, but, it was a dream of Lupe and his wife Jesse Perez.

The Taco Hideout has been opened since 1964 known as Little Alcapulo, its location was at the corner of East Berrien and Chambers Street, it was a small place seating about 25 people. The Introduction of mexican food to this area was very challenging to say the least, being the first mexican restaurant serving food that most people had never heard of. The food is made as ordered, the shells are no

t pre-made, they are a tortilla until you order it, the same way as in 1964. The meat is made fresh about every 30 minutes making the hideout food the very best around. In this way of cooking, you can get your shell at any texture soft, medium or hard. The enchiladas and the rest of the food follow the same theory. Microwaves are not used in the preparation of food it's FRESH! The location is off the beaten path so we focus on the other three things, food, price and service.
