Historic Gakona Lodge and Trading Post

Historic Gakona Lodge and Trading Post Gakona Lodge was established in 1904 and considered one of the oldest operating original roadhouses in Alaska. Historic Lodge.

It is on the National Register of Historic Places and provides lodging, a tavern, and restaurant to travelers, fisherman and hunters. One of the last remaining Roadhouses in Alaska. Lodge has 10 rooms, 4 Cabins, Restaurant, and Tavern. On the National Register of Historic Places. We aree located at the confluence of the Gakona and Copper River in South East Central Alaska. We fish the Gulkana and Klutina Rivers. We are close to Valdez, Wrangell-St Elias National Park and Glennallen Alaska.

Heads up all! The Trappers Den bar and the Carriage House kitchen will be closed Monday August 11th to the general public. We will reopen from 7:30-9pm . Regular menu, no specials. Our very own talented local, Daric Long will then be performing again at the Trappers Den around 7:30pm. Thank you. 😊
