🇵🇾 THE PARAGUAYAN TRADITION OF EATING BEFORE DRINKING TERERÉ 🧉
One of Paraguay's most cherished traditions is eating something before enjoying tereré.
This custom is passed down from generation to generation. Many Paraguayans believe it's best to avoid drinking tereré on an empty stomach, so it's common to first enjoy a bite of chipa, mbejú, sopa paraguaya, boiled cassava, or another favorite dish.
Then comes the tereré—a refreshing drink that brings family, friends, and neighbors together. More than a beverage, tereré is a symbol of friendship, hospitality, conversation, and the Paraguayan way of life.
First we share the food… then we share the tereré. 🇵🇾❤️🧉
