f every dollar you spend goes toward education programs, including support for Helms College. In addition, Helms College culinary students receive experiential learning opportunities through service at Edgar's Bistro. Named for Edgar Helms, founder of Goodwill Industries, Edgar’s offers guests in Macon a true “win-win” situation. You get to enjoy creative cuisine and delectable desserts and also enjoy that warm feeling inside that comes from helping others. This is a page for supporters of Edgar's Bistro. Edgar’s Bistro is reopening for lunch service on 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟴, and we can’t wait to welcome you back.

Open Wednesday–Friday, 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., Edgar’s Bistro is a student- and faculty-chef-run restaurant operated by Helms College, offering a fresh, contemporary take on Southern cuisine—crafted each quarter by instructors and students of the Polly Long Denton School of Hospitality.

This quarter also marks an exciting new chapter with Chef Lane Richardson leading the kitchen. A Helms College graduate and former head chef at Macon’s Dovetail, Chef Lane brings his experience full circle—mentoring the next generation of culinary talent where his own journey began.
