Gatsby's Open Mic w/Danny Lang

Gatsby's Open Mic occurs each Wednesday* from 7-10pm. Sign-up board opens approx. 6:15pm. Typical Sign-up board opens by 6:30pm. House also provides lighting.

Typical format allows for 3 songs/15 minute performances for each musician. Board size may cause nightly adjustments. This is a music oriented Open Mic geared toward acoustic and electric guitar performances. We offer 3 dynamic mics, 3 instrument inserts through 2-1000w 15 inch speakers and 2 monitors. Cajon's are welcome, We currently have a house drummer to offer percussion during sets. Earn A $PAID$ Gig Event: Gatsby's offers an ability to earn a paid gig on specific Saturday's from 6-8pm, opening up for the Saturday Night Band. The events run seasonally and run in 4-6 week voting cycles. Performers earn Player Points through nightly voting by patrons, venue staff and host. The player with the most points at the end of each event period earns the paid gig. This is not a single night voting/winner event. We normally announce the winner 9-10 days in advance to allow for proper marketing of the gig. Performers are expected to be able to play 2 hours worth of material and provide their own sound equipment. The Open Mic Host may provide sound assistance, if needed, for a small fee. Gatsby's reserves the right to suspend or adjust the event as needed without notice.

*Check for availability during holidays and special events.

A super fun night of great talent last night at Gatsby’s Open Mic.

Gatsby’s had a visit from Dangerous Dave Kurtz, who setup some spooky Halloween 🎃 decorations.

Lucy and Tom rocked their 30 min set as The Great Gatsby. Sorry, I forgot to bring the new picture frame.

Our Mystery Artist was, “Short Fuse” from the Gahanna School of Rock. They had a great set and were also selected as next week’s Great Gatsby. So mark your calendars for next week to hear this great group of young musicians.

As the Great Gatsby, they will play a 30 min set at approx 8:00 - 8:30pm and will receive a FREE Large 2 Topping Pizza! 🍕

We also had a return trip from Andrew Hoehnen who had a great fingerstyle set of songs.

Our good friend and fellow open mic host, Chaz Mechenbier performed a couple songs with our very talented bartender Tiffany, while we were transitioning players.

Also Jimi Campbell from Jimi and The CoolCats closed out the night. The band will be playing Saturday night starting at 7pm.

Everyone brought their A-Game and we had lots of visitors who complimented how great everyone performed. Special thanks to Englishman John Locke, for playing some songs for the traveling group from Ireland.

Hear you next week!
