A LITTLE SMALL BUSINESS REMINDER 📣
Sometimes customers may wonder why small businesses require a deposit or payment before an order is started. The simple answer is: we have to purchase the supplies to make your order.
When you place an order, there are expenses that happen BEFORE the product is completed. Ingredients, packaging, cake boards, boxes, decorations, custom items, labels, and other supplies all have to be purchased in advance. Depending on the order, those supplies may be purchased specifically for one customer and may not be usable for another order.
Small businesses also have operating expenses. There are bills, equipment, utilities, business fees, transportation, inventory, taxes, and many other costs that come with running a business. And behind many small businesses are real people with households and families who also have everyday expenses.
A payment is not simply “paying for a cake” or “paying for a product.” It helps cover the cost of producing that order from start to finish.
This is why deposits and payment deadlines are important. They allow businesses to purchase what is needed, schedule the order, reserve the date, and properly prepare to provide the product or service that was requested.
Please understand that no payment means we cannot move forward with the order. We cannot purchase supplies with promises, screenshots, or “I’ll pay later.”
Small businesses appreciate customers who understand that policies are in place for a reason. ❤️
Support small businesses. Respect their policies. And remember that behind every small business is someone investing their own time, money, and resources to make it happen. ✨
