There are a lot of ways to understand Christianity. It seems reasonable to at least take the Bible at face value, and we've established that it is at least reliable history. Therefore, we should assume that, unless we've got evidence to suggest otherwise, that the Bible describes events as they actually happened. If so, and Christians are trying to follow Christ, we should take the Bible at it's word about the kind of person Jesus was, in particular, who he claimed to be. Was he a great teacher, a revolutionary, or something more?
