Smokey Bonez BBQ

Smokey Bonez BBQ Bringing the Western Slope the best slow smoked Texas style brisket, Kansas City style spareribs and slow smoked pork butts made with family recipes.

Pitmaster and owner chef Mike Young offers competition BBQ favorites and scrumptious side dishes! Our Story

A Father's Day gift that turned into a business venture 8 years later. In 2013, I got Mike a Father’s Day gift along with my dad to attend a BBQ smoking class hosted by a Champion Pitmaster. Mike loved it so much that on the way home he went and bought a Rocky Mountain Smoker. In the ensui

ng years we experimented with different kinds of meat, sides and flavors of wood. We played around with times and temps that cooked each cut of meat best. Our family and friends were involved in the experiments much to their delight and sometimes not so much a delight. We started cooking for family events and holidays. When our church asked if we would cater some events, we found out that we could cook for a large crowd of people. After family and friends kept telling us we should sell what we made, Mike decided a career change was in order. Mike took an interest in building smokers and started doing that in his spare time. The first smoker was finished in early 2019. Once we decided to get a food trailer, he started working on a new one that sits on the trailer’s porch. While working on the new smoker we took all the things we were doing and Smokey Bonez BBQ went from a pipe dream to a reality. We are super excited to start this new adventure that wouldn’t be possible without the help from our awesome family, whom we love so much, and have no problem telling us if what we cook is not “On Point”. Another key to success is our great friends who helped taste test, especially the two wonderful ladies we worked with. One whose talent for detail is making our trailer look awesome and the other who used her talent online. With God, family and good friends anything is possible

With Market season kicking into full swing, please remember that asphalt gets much hotter than the air temperature and can quickly burn your pet’s paws.

A good rule of thumb: if it’s too hot for you to walk on barefoot, it’s too hot for them too.

For your pet’s safety and comfort, consider leaving them at home, especially during the hottest parts of the day. A fun outing isn’t worth the risk of painful burns.

Please help keep our furry friends safe this summer!

Smokey Bonez BBQ is so grateful for our customers, and the friendships we’ve built over these last 5 years. We love ❤️ what we do and our customers deserve the best every time.

We are elated to be nominated again for Best BBQ, the twist is that we are in the voting for Best Food Truck 🛻 too! We know that is a tough competition because this valley has some amazing food trucks that also happen to be our friends and our favorite places to eat.

Let’s get out and vote Grand Valley! We thank you for your support 🤠🐮🐷🦃🍗.
