Enjoy great company and delicious food. The Knotty Pine is the oldest restaurant in Front Royal and one of the oldest in the Shenandoah Valley. Built in 1938, it was originally a dairy and has not closed its doors for one day since it opened (except for Christmas). We're up at 6:00am for breakfast, which is served all day, along with lunch, dinner and some of the best country cookin' around. There

I want to thank all of our guests for their feedback, as we take customer service seriously.

However, I’d like to clarify the details regarding this visit.

The Order: The reviewer ate his entire meal (nachos) with zero complaints at the table. His concerns were on behalf of a guest on a separate ticket, whose order was promptly corrected and remade by our staff. (Eggs were ordered sunny side up and came out sunny side up but turns out they wanted them over easy) and a biscuit was missing but that was promptly corrected.

The Bill: The core issue arose when the guest refused to accept that local sales and meals tax are legally added to menu prices at checkout, standard across all restaurants.

Bartender: After reviewing our security footage, our bartender was attentive and courteous throughout service—a fact confirmed by other guests present at the time. See attached screenshot

Our Effort: I personally offered to meet face-to-face to address these concerns. After the guest missed our first meeting, we met last night but a full refund for an entirely consumed meal was declined and I woke up to this review this morning, which was deleted as I was responding but I did screenshot it.

We always strive to fix honest mistakes in real-time, but we stand firmly behind our staff especially when other customers are present and corroborate the bartenders account.
