After almost 8 years of serving Frisco and the North Dallas community, we will be officially closing our doors on March 20th, 2023.
Aiya was the culmination of a hope and a legacy built by Taiwanese immigrants, who sacrificed everything for their version of the American Dream. Many of you may have seen the man behind the counter and some of you may have even gotten to know him. From opening a small takeout restaurant in McKinney, Chopsticks Asian Cafe, in 2002 to opening Aiya in Frisco in 2015, Bruce has served hundreds of thousands of plates of Sesame Chicken, Lo Mein and Sweet and Sour Chicken in his career.
But what sets him apart is his personality: vocal, friendly, blunt, and opinionated. For him, the restaurant was an opportunity to meet people and to develop meaningful relationships. Despite the long hours and the challenges that all restaurants have faced in the last few years, he's loved every moment. As his family, we couldn't be more proud of him for his sacrifice and commitment. Working in restaurants is a hard career path to choose; it's exhausting, challenging, stressful and often times taken for granted. He gave up being able to attend his kids' events as they grew up, vacations with his family and even taking days off, so that he could make sure we were taken care of.
But now, after over 21 years, it's time for him to put down the 15 hour workdays, 7 days a week. It's time for him to reflect on what he's been able to accomplish in his career and the incredible milestones he's been able to reach.
To our customers and our friends, we are beyond grateful for the support and opportunity to have served this wonderful community for the last almost 8 years. We'd love to see you one last time before we close our doors. While this is goodbye, this isn't a sad one, but a happy one. Thank you!
