THIS SUNDAY, June 14th, at 12pm, there is a sweet little event happening in the hall at the White Star Fraternal Society, that you and your child can come and help support St Jude’s.
Here is a little about it, it’s called Draw for a Dream ♥️ This little girl is trying to make a difference, and we need your help to make a success for the Freeport/Sarver community.
Draw For A Dream
Many of you may have seen 6-year-old Kaylinh on the news for her mission to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We have reserved White Star for her Draw For A Dream event so that our girls can help make a difference for children battling cancer.
This is an intentional, hands-on leadership experience designed to show your daughters, in real time, that her actions change the world.
During this fun, one-hour event, girls will:
● Create an original masterpiece, drawing for exactly 24 minutes to honor the 24 hours a day that children at St. Jude have to fight cancer.
● Receive an official embossed stamp and sign their own certificate of authenticity as a true artist.
● Participate in a lively art auction where each girl's artwork is celebrated and families are encouraged to cheer, bid, and show the girls that their creativity has value.
During this performance, adults will bid loud and proud to show the kids their work has massive value. We love to encourage parents to yell out the winning bid of $100 for their own child’s art. When your child sees a room full of adults applaud and compete to own their art, and then sees you bid the highest to bring it home, it builds your child’s belief in themselves that no classroom can teach.
Please know that this auction is entirely a performance, and any financial contribution is completely optional. Everyone is encouraged to participate and give whatever they feel called to give.
Every $100 raised can provide a St. Jude patient with a red wagon, helping children travel the hospital halls with a little more joy and feel a little more normal, silly, and free. Through this event, your daughter’s single drawing will directly give a sick child a piece of their childhood back.
We ask each girl to invite a friend, cousin, or neighbor to join the event.
