🏆 The latest Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Program Accountability rankings have been released, and Bay School has been given an Excellent Rating!
This recognition reflects what happens each day within the walls of our historic school—children learning, exploring, creating, playing, building relationships, and developing the skills they need to enter kindergarten ready to succeed.

Walton County School District goes beyond the minimum educational requirements for VPK instructors by ensuring that district VPK teachers hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
Our teachers understand that preparing children for kindergarten is about much more than teaching isolated academic skills. It is about developing the whole child through intentional teacher-directed instruction balanced with child-initiated exploration, play, interaction, and meaningful experiences.

Located in the historic community of Point Washington, Bay School proudly serves as an early learning and VPK center for South Walton County.
As the oldest school still operating in Walton County, Bay School has been part of this community since 1938. We are proud to preserve the history and traditions of this very special school while continuing to provide high-quality, innovative early childhood education for today's youngest learners.
For generations, children have walked through the doors of Bay School ready to learn, grow, and discover what they are capable of achieving. That tradition continues today.
