This is what I love about comedy. I take a gig at Fred and Murry’s Kosher Deli in Freehold, NJ., and high school pals who I haven’t seen in decades, are sitting in the front row. So great to see Beth DiGiacinto and John DiGiacinto and Howie Hurwitz, even though he called me Buck Tooth Wally in 6th grade (and he was pigeon-toed). And next to them is my former colleague Laurence Cocco with his lovely son.
AND THE FOOD! Fantastic! A big thanks to Kurt the owner for sending me home with a pile of pastrami and rye bread and Dr Brown’s diet black cherry soda and two knishes and a black-and-white cookie. You have to go there for a meal. And of course, check out their regular comedy shows at Sloppy Joe’s Comedy. Thank you Steve Trevelise for putting this together. What a fun and memorable night.
