When I started baking almost 20 years ago I did it for my friends & family. It brought me so much joy to see their excitement that I decided to do it for my career- what could be more fulfilling than sharing my gift with others? Well as it so often goes it stopped being about bringing joy to people, and started being about hustling to make money.

I continued doing cakes on the side for the past 5 1/2 years, just kind of floating along- feeing lost because I wasn’t sure how to be a wife & mom and still be me. Still be the me who loved to bake and made time no matter what. These past few months I have done a few fun and different cakes for friends or family. It took this cake for it really hit me. This cake is so much more that sprinkles & drips and macarons. It’s decades of hard work for someone who I’ve known for just as long. It’s love and passion for my craft all wrapped up in buttercream.
